I know that, like, Harry Potter games are kind of being smoked to their filters and stretched to their limits. Mostly because people just aren't as interested anymore since the series ended. The focus has gone away, slipping into the years past and becoming more and more of a "oh, remember that? that was fun" kind of memory instead of "oh! i'm REALLY excited about this!" kind of event. I mean, we've all experienced it and for a lot of us, it's made us want to give up roleplay in general - simply because now we're bored and HP was one of those things, you know? One of those things where the world was so indepth and filled with ideas and characters and unfulfilled plots to explore. And once the series ended, a lot of us felt like we've grown up, grown out of it, and moved on.
And, I mean, don't get me wrong. That's totally cool. There's so much more now, so many more fandoms and books that inspire games. There's a lot more in the world and it's understandable that Harry Potter is kind of, well, over.
And maybe it's silly and too late for me to want to start a new game. Maybe it's past and now it's like, so 2007 to still be into Harry Potter. Maybe I'm holding onto something I should have let go of already.
But, I mean, maybe I want to smoke this down past the filter.
So this is my roundabout fucking way of inviting everyone reading this right now, if it tickles you, to join a new game that bilo and I have started. foltlins is mostly just me wanting to write again, me wanting to explore an alternate hp-universe that I liked, and wanting to expand on the idea of what if.
Here's the basic premise of Fault Lines, for those interested: Bellatrix Lestrange is elected Minister of Magic.
That's as simple as it gets. I know that I, for one, fucking live for this shit. The let's-see-what-fucked-up-idea-we-can-come-up-with-but-still-make-it-work kind of plan.
I'm just saying, it's going to at least be incredibly fun.
I'm just saying, if you're interested, put a hold on a character HERE and tell 'em skelly sent ya. Ain't nobody gonna turn you away.
